カナダが広がっていく。。。
The Fur Trade was an important part of Canada's growth in this time. In fact, Americans and Canadians both were competing for control over the land in the west.
毛皮貿易はカナダの発達に重要な役割を演じました。実は、アメリカもカナダも同じ西部の陸地を侵入をしようとしていました。
European knives and other metal-made objects were traded for the furs and skins of animals that the native peoples wore. This became the first form of contact between the European and North American peoples.
ヨーロッパのナイフなどの金属性道具と先住民の着る毛皮がヨーロッパ人とファーストネーションの民族達の間に交換されていました。この毛皮貿易が北アメリカとヨーロッパの民族達の接触の初期となりました。
The fur trade was established along rivers like the Fraser River, and Europeans slowly moved into the inland areas.
毛皮の交易所がフレーザー川に沿って設立されて、ブリティッシュ・コロンビアの内陸部にもヨーロッパ人が入植してきました。
Looking back now it's easy to feel bad for the animals, eh? But without animals furs no one would survive the cold, Canadian winters!
今から見ると動物達はちょっと可愛いそうですね。でも、毛皮がないとカナダの寒い寒い冬になったら皆がどうなるでしょう！
