ifの用法です☆

なんどもいいますが：
英語のifには二つの種類→
１）「現実的なもしも」
２）「非現実的なもしも」

本日は「過去」のもしも：

１－「現実的な過去のもしも」

意味合い：「もし～だったら、～した」
＊過去の状況でおこりえた習慣や事実の話。

形：[ If S V（過去形） ... , S V（過去形） ]

例：
If I went to a friend's house for dinner, I usually took some desserts or flowers. I don't do that anymore.
If the weather was sunny, I often rode a bike to work. Now, I usually just drive.

２－「非現実的な過去のもしも」

意味合い：「もし～だったら、～しただろうに」
＊過去の状況とは反対の話。おこりえなかった内容を想像して話す。

形：[ If S had pp（過去完了形） ... , S would have pp ]

例：
If I had owned a bicycle, I would have biked to work. But I didn't own one, so I walked.
If Tom had worked harder, he would have earned more money. Unfortunately, he was lazy and he didn't earn much.
