というわけで本日のお題：「一日も早く」
“in less than no time”
上記のイントロの文で使ったフレーズです：”in less than no time”
「みんなが元気になるように、一日でも早くこういう日本の美しい日々が戻ってくるといいなぁ」でした。
日本語では「一日でも」という強調の仕方をするこの表現。
ほかに言い換えれば「直ちに」「すぐに」などとほぼ同意ですが、
英語では「一日も」という強調の仕方ではなく、
むしろ「0日」＝no timeであらわすところがおもしろいですね。
ほかにも
“in no time”
“in no time at all”
なども同様の意味となります。
