英語ボランティア / English Volunteer 【7/29】

準備に1ヶ月半以上をかけました。教材作り、レッスンプランとリハーサルを経て、東京インターハイスクールの先生2人と生徒4人が大田区田園調布小学校で英語ボランティア活動をしてきました。
After a month and half of preparation thought materials and lesson plan makings as well as rehearsals, two teachers and four students of Tokyo Inter-High School had an English volunteer activity in a public elementary school in Tokyo. They are all fluent in English as for most of them it is their native language.

早朝から学年ごとに3つのクラスに分けて英語を行いました。
They had three classes during the morning in which they volunteered at teaching English.

1時間目は小３・小４対象でした。テーマは国、スポーツとそのアイテム（道具）です。
The first class was for 3rd and 4th graders and the theme was Countries, Sports and Sports items.

合計14人もの小３・小４が参加しました！ビンゴやジェスチャーゲームで遊んで、子供が英語をとても楽しく感じた時間となりました。
A total of 14 students participated and we had a great time guessing words concerning famous sports and their items/gear. We played a unique Bingo game where children had to ask teachers for sports items to complete their grid, and we played charades, a famous game of gestures where player acts out a phrase for others to guess.

2時間目は小5・小6対象で、テーマは「その日の気分」でした
The second class was for 5th and 6th graders and the theme was Emotions.

8人の生徒が参加してくれました。大きな学園だったのでみんなの英語レベルが高く、スムーズにクラスを行うことができました。その日の気分（暑い、寒い、眠い、退屈、うれしい、かなしい等の例）をしっかり学びました。生徒のみなさんの理解力と発音力が素晴らしかったです。ジェスチャーゲーム、伝言ゲームと色鬼を通して、最後まで楽しく遊びました。
8 students participated and they had a good level in English therefore the class went smoothly. We talked about the different feelings people can have and made sure they understood and could pronounce correctly. Students had fun playing charades, telephone game and color tag.

3時間目は小1・小2対象で、テーマは「色」でした。
The third class was for 1st and 2nd graders and the theme was Colors.

エネルギーのあふれる20人の小1・小2が参加し、「色」について学んでとても楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。「Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes」を歌い、踊ったり、子供向けのデジタルフォニックス「Jazzles」を使ったり、たくさんのアクティビティーを通して子供を楽しませることができました。その他に、カラーリング、サイモンセッズなどを使って楽しく英語を学ぶために参加者を活躍させました。
20 students with a lot of energy attended and we had a great time learning about colors, dancing with Head, Shoulders, Knee and Toes and Jazzles, an original and digital phonics for kids, Kids enjoyed singing, doing actions, coloring, guessing and playing through various games: the Head, Shoulder, Knees and toes song, Jazzles's original phonics song, Simon says.

最後のクラスには20名以上の小1と小2が参加しました

小学校の低学年はエネルギーいっぱいにあふれていました！
かかった準備の時間が笑いと幸福感となって私たちにも返ってきました。

In the end, both students from the elementary school and Tokyo Inter-High School had a great time, and all the preparation work was rewarded by laughter and fun!

また来年もぜひ参加します＾＾
