Hint: The city was named Vancouver during the Meiji Restoration.
ヒント：明治維新の時代、カナダのギャスタウンというところはそのとき「バンクーバー」という名をつけられました。
Answer: Vancouver has been around since 1886!
正解：「バンクーバー」は１８８６年からある都市です！
Question #2: How long have people lived in the area now known as Vancouver?
設問第二：現在のバンクーバーの地域には何年前から人間が居住していたでしょう？
Hint #1: There were people in this area even before the beginning of Japan's Nara Period.
ヒントその１：日本の奈良時代より以前、人間が居住していたそうです。
Hint #2: There were people in this area before Christian or Buddhist religions began.
ヒントその２：宗教のキリスト教や仏教の始まりより以前人間が居住していたそうです。
Answer: The Musqueam People have been living here for at least 3,000 years. But thanks to a rich and fertile environment, it is thought that people have been here as long as 10,000 years!
正解：マスキームといわれる先住民族が居住したのは、せめて3,000年以上前からバンクーバー地域に居住していたそうです。ですが、豊かな自然環境があるため、10,000年以上前から人間が居住していたとも考えられています!
